Our old shelter, consisting of a house trailer, open kennels on the bare ground, open kennels on concrete pads and fenced areas with cats kept inside the trailer in one small isolation room and one small cat room with several cages of kittens kept in the office/reception area.
Our new shelter, consisting of a steel framed building with a reception area, office, bonding room, indoor kennels, cat isolation room, cat room, a meeting room, a dog dipping room and built in storage as well as a dog recreation area and room for expansion.
One of the open pens that adult dogs were kept with only dog houses to protect them in winter and trees to keep them cool in summer.
The new, enclosed and climate controlled kennels to keep the puppies and dogs protected from the elements.
This is where the mother dogs were kept with their pups with only dog houses and tarps to protect them.
Now they are kept indoors with complete protection from sweltering heat and freezing cold.
